Zabadani

It's nice to be back in Zabadani after almost 2 years of not visiting the cafe. A lot has changed and improved, one of which is the newest branch located in The Peak, Gaisano Mall of Davao.

I used to go to Zabadani for the internet (yes, it had around 5 computer units 2 years ago). It was an internet cafe slash coffee shop slash Middle Eastern cuisine when I first stepped inside that cozy cafe in Ponciano, conveniently located at the back of the University of Mindanao. I used to frequent this place when I was attending law school. I was a coffee addict then, and their layered coffee was one of my favorites. Now that I've cut back on my cafe, Zabadani is still here offering their Bruschetta, Kebabs, Beef Squares, and the rest of their menu. Just recently, I tried their flavored yogurt smoothie (try Macadamia!) and it became my instant favorite! 

More photos will be uploaded soon, with caption, of course. I forgot the correct names of the food that we ordered but I'm sure the one on the topmost of this post is Beef Stew. I'll be updating this once I get the correct names. Ciao! (--,)

Let's go to BRUNSWICK ISLANDS!

I haven't been out of the country, but when I have the opportunity, I would love to go to Brunswick Islands.

Brunswick Islands is located in North Carolina. North Carolina is located in the Southeastern part of the United States and it's home to Bald Head Island, Calabash, Caswell Beach, Holden Beach, Leland, Oak Island, Ocean Isle Beach, Shallotte, Southport, Sunset Beach, and the Mainland.

One spot that I would like to go to is Southport. Some scenes of the movie "A Walk To Remember" were filmed here. It is also well known for its vintage charm that has never failed to amuse tourists and I want to personally see its historic grandeur. There are a lot of accommodations in Southport, such as the Southport Inn, which offers bed and breakfast in their Victorian-inspired furnishings.

Another thing that I would like to try some day is the Kayaking. 

Black water river kayaking may sound a little bit scary but when I watched the video, I found the river very serene and I really want to try it. It seems to merge both relaxation and adventure in one activity.

Too Late for Magnum

A month ago, everybody was going crazy for Magnum. I told myself that I would never buy a 50-peso ice cream stick because I think that it's too expensive. In my own opinion, it is overpriced. But I did not say that I would not eat Magnum. Of course, when somebody gives you a 50-peso ice cream stick for free, who wouldn't be grateful for it?

So, I had my first taste of Magnum and oh my, now I know why this has a cult following. The Belgian Chocolate coating is a winner! I'd say that it is delicious and its taste could very well be reasonable for its price. For the ice cream though, I didn't notice anything extra special (well, that's from someone whose favorite is Haagen Dazs).

If you haven't tasted your first Magnum yet, I'd say don't scrimp on that 50 pesos. You can give it a try, even once. Will I purchase my very own Magnum? Well, maybe not anytime soon. But I will still give it a chance one of these days.

The Avengers

This is not a movie review.

The Avengers is so hilarious. Some might say that it's too funny to be a super hero movie but I'd have to disagree. I personally think that the amount of humor injected into the movie is just right. The humor punch couldn't have been any better!

My pick for the best scene was this: 

Loki: I am a god you dull creature..and I will not be bullied by... 

Hulk: (smashes Loki to the ground over and over again)...

I remember myself almost out of breath for laughing so hard inside the theater.

If I will have to pick the best character, it would be no less than Loki. 

Tom Hiddleston's portrayal of that loser and struggling god was so amusing for me. Loki didn't even have the face of a villain but I believe that Tom was such a brilliant actor in personifying Loki. Even with the movie Thor, I have already noticed Tom Hiddleston's talent although I wasn't very impressed that time. I was so blinded by Thor's biceps then. 

Of course, The Avengers wouldn't be complete without noticing the good looks of Captain America. Chris Evans is just so handsome, hands down. All the other characters have made their mark in this movie, including Agent Phil.

If you haven't watched the movie yet, then you're missing a lot. This movie is so worth it!

I was able to watch The Avengers at Abreeza Mall  last April 27, 2012 through the efforts of Davao Bloggers and powered by the awesome people at Globe Telecom. Lots of Globe sim cards were given away and a cellular phone was raffled at the end of the free movie screening.
